"IF IT DOESN'T MAKE YOUR SHIP GO FASTER, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO BUY IT."

-SUE BRYCE

The above quote is important one for us content creators. If we take it seriously it’s a reminder that can prevent us from finding ourselves in the hole financially as we try to keep up with new technology. We can easily end up with new cameras, maxed out credit cards and not be creating content any more efficiently or of better quality. This has been the opposite for me. I've struggled with having gear that only gets in my way creatively. When you need something you don't have, logistics can get complicated.

In February I had to turn down a job as a Cinematographer on a Feature Film because of camera rental logistics in relation to their schedule. It was time for that to end.

THE  SOLUTION.

We bought a RED SCARLET with MYSTERIUM-X Sensor. Why is this important? Because it will make our ship go faster! There are some key advantages to having a powerful cinema camera at arms length away.

Self Sufficiency

This is #1 for us. The renting process has proven to be unnecessarily prohibitive while trying to create content in the past. Now we won't have far to go for a key tool we've used in productions and really enjoyed.

Cinematic

Compared to other cameras we've used, it is the most cinematic by far.

Speed

This camera is just a tool. Far from the greatest camera, but on set it has certain advantages over other cameras that help make the job a little bit easier.

Opportunity

I know this camera won't light a scene all by itself, but Producers and Directors swoon over RED Cameras. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I think it has a lot to do with the flexibility and capability built into it's feature set that other cameras don't have. The .r3d file system is enough for me!

We are stoked to have this camera in our arsenal! The goal is to create more content than we have in the past, and I think this will help us achieve that exact thing. Blog about the importance of Visualization and Asking for Help coming soon!
