Alex Gasparetto


Co-founder of Lunar Flame Pictures, Alex Gasparetto has a certificate in Film Production from the Motion Picture Institute and a seven year background in Digital Media. He currently serves as a Director and Producer at Lunar Flame Pictures, LLC where he has successfully directed and produced multiple award winning shorts.

Alex’s skillset and thorough understanding of the entire production process is what enables him to excel at jobs from Cinematographer and Production Designer, to Assistant Editor on the Feature Film ‘This is Nowhere’.  

His thesis film "Asphyxia" brought home awards for 'Best Artist' and 'Best Actress' at local festivals.  More recently, "Akoma" has earned awards like 'Film Challenge Detroit's Grand Prize Winner', 'Festival Choice Award' and 'Best Cinematographer - Short' at local festivals and has screened across the country at some of the finest international festivals like NFFTY and Cinetopia.  His films exemplify true visual story-telling and  most often center around strong female leads making him a local filmmaker to keep an eye on.


Lucie Gillespie


Co-Founder of Lunar Flame Pictures, Lucie Gillespie has a certificate in Film Production from the Motion Picture Institute.  She currently serves as Production Manager of Lunar Flame Pictures, LLC where she has successfully produced four short films as well as a variety promotional work in the last two years. 

In 2014 her graduate feature screenplay, The Other Side of the Coin, won the Best Feature Screenplay Award at the MPI Film Festival that year. She has since co-written the feature script, Sister's Wrath, and Best Screenplay - Short Narrative Winner at QWFF 2017, “The Girl on the Mat,” with NuWave Films. 

Recently her writing credits have seen awards in the same week as “The Girl on the Mat” took home the “Audience Choice Award” at the Royal Starr Film Festival in Royal Oak and “Akoma” took home the grand prize at the Click-on-Detroit Film Challenge. It is her ability to create strong female characters that has given her a unique voice within the local film industry.
